The challenge

What Athena CMS (DataCram) set out to fix

Marketing and publishing teams on WordPress were spending their days on maintenance instead of publishing. Plugin stacks broke on update, database queries took more than four seconds, security advisories kept arriving, and a single article could take days to move through manual editing.

What we built

What we built, and why it works

We built Athena CMS from scratch as an AI-native publishing system. Pages are composed visually and built at the edge, so they load fast without a plugin layer in the way. A roster of 18 specialized AI agents, from Zeus (live event watcher) to Harmonia (Spanish and accessibility), handles research, drafting, images, schema, and site upkeep, and editors approve the work instead of assembling it by hand. Fewer moving parts means less to patch and less to break.

Questions about the Athena CMS (DataCram) project

What a build like this involves, what it costs to find out, and how it would work for your business.

What is Athena CMS, and who is it for?
Athena is the publishing system we built to replace plugin-heavy WordPress setups. Pages are built at the edge, so they load fast, and a roster of 18 AI agents drafts, researches, and checks the site while editors approve the work. It suits businesses and publishers that want a fast site without a maintenance schedule built around plugin updates.
Do the Athena agents publish without a person approving?
Only where you allow it. Some agents publish when permitted, such as a storm banner from Zeus, while most draft for approval or file a report with fixes. Every run is logged and every change sits in the entry's history, so anything an agent does can be undone. Editors stay in charge; the agents do the legwork.
Can my existing website move to Athena CMS?
Usually, yes. A move means carrying over your pages, images, and redirects so search rankings and old links keep working. We plan the migration page by page before anything changes, and the free plan tells you what moving would involve for your site and what it should cost.
Where do the Athena numbers on this page come from?
They describe the platform as built: Core Web Vitals scores, edge response times, and the absence of third-party plugins. Each figure has a line of context saying what it measures. Your own results depend on your content, images, and hosting, so treat them as what the platform is capable of, not a forecast for your site.
